"Everyone is replaceable"
Really? Are they?
Whoever said this needed an excuse to negatively motivate his slaves!
I am fairly certain they were being paid below the living wage.
If you think someone could... do you?
You would be wrong
Do, think and say exactly what you do, the way you do it, the way you feel it?
Why? Because they are not you!
Could they do it better, worse?
Sure, but they could not do it like you.
If Beethoven had stopped writing his fifth symphony after the first movement, could someone else have finished it, the same way? Absolutely NOT, Bach? He would have fugue'd it, Puccini he would have Andante'd the con moto. Mozart? it would have been absolutely fabulous, perhaps with a trill! But it would not have been the intense storm that was Beethoven.
When Amy Palladino stopped writing for her show the Gilmore Girls, you could tell.
You knew straight away that she had made an exit.
The script wasn't tight anymore, the characters were in a dialogue that no longer held the humour in the long, fast duologues she was so famous for.
Because someone had tried to replace her, emulate her style, exude her essence.

My relationship fell apart when I realised there were two leading ladies; I felt I had been replaced.
Rubbed out like the pencil outline of a painting.
I am sure most people have experienced some form of this, a friend, a lover, a sibling.
We see someone weave their thread into the fabric of our lives , sharing what we once exchanged, in the same places, hell, sometimes in the same bed!
But it is not true. They could never have the same experience, because they are not you.
Each exchange is a co-creation, specific to those who create it. Wylie E. Coyote without the Road Runner is an unmotivated predator. Trying to recreate the same feeling without the elusive speedster would be to no avail. Now I understand that it is not possible for someone to be replaced.
Madonna's famous answer to those artists who felt it was time she was replaced is such a wonderful example of someone refusing to be anyone but themselves.(while at the same time giving the finger).
Her irrereverent declaration reminding us there is only one, Madonna. So next time you feel even for one second that you are less than, that you are not enough, not special and start comparing yourself to another human being, remember:
No-one has the exact same energy.
You may have similar ability, hair colour, however your expression is unique.
No-one is YOU!
There is no carbon copy, ask identical twins.
For this reason you are priceless, you are valuable, a rare find.
You are in fact... irreplaceable. Sing it Madge!
